Share Table

"They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity — all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved."
Acts 2:46-47 (NLT)
At Elgin Vineyard, we believe that sharing a table is a powerful way to connect this generation with the Father’s heart. When we gather around a meal, whether in homes or at the church, we have the opportunity to build authentic relationships, listen to one another’s stories, and encourage each other in faith. It’s through these shared moments that we experience the joy of community, support one another in our walk with Jesus, and grow together as we praise God and reflect His love to the world around us.

How do I host a table?

1. Invite
When it comes to inviting people, it’s not just about inviting those you know well — it’s about creating space for new connections. Consider inviting someone familiar, someone you don’t know well yet, someone new to the church, or anyone the Lord places on your heart. It could also be a couple, a family, or even a small group of people. Stay open and attentive to how the Holy Spirit leads you!

2. Prepare
Plan your meal. It doesn’t have to be extravagant — just something you can share. Whether it's a full meal, snacks, or even coffee and dessert, it’s the time together that matters most. The meal could also be potluck-style where everyone brings something to share.

3. Share the meal and your stories
As you share the meal, share your stories. This could be about what God is doing in your life, challenges you’ve faced, or victories you’ve celebrated. It’s not about having the perfect conversation but about creating space for connection.

4. Pray Together
Take a moment to pray for each other, for our community, or simply to give thanks for the time together. Prayer can be a meaningful part of your time around the table.

5. Enjoy Connection and Fellowship!
Offer people the opportunity to be seen, known, and valued. These connections extend beyond the table, helping individuals feel more connected and engaged at church and in each other’s lives, strengthening the fabric of our community.

Our goal is to share 50 tables in the first half of the year, and we’d love for you to be a part of this! When you host a table, you’re not just sharing food — you’re creating space for people to experience the Lord’s presence in a meaningful way.

Let us know when you’ve hosted a table so we can celebrate and track how God is using these connections to grow and deepen connections among our church family!
