Alpha Online

Great conversation & talks that make you think

Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith, built around a talk and a group discussion. The Alpha series is a worldwide phenomenon, and everyone is welcome to attend—no church affiliation necessary.

The talks are designed to engage and inspire conversation. They explore the big issues of faith and unpack the basics of Christianity, addressing questions such as Who is Jesus? and How can we have faith?

But maybe the best part of Alpha is what comes after the talk: some lively conversation. You'll have the chance to share your thoughts and simply discuss the topic in a small group setting. There’s no obligation to say anything, and there’s nothing you can’t say. It’s an opportunity to hear from others and contribute your own perspective in an honest, friendly and open environment.

Second City Church in Chicago is hosting Alpha Online using Zoom, and we've been partnering with them. Len and Claire Kruse are the facilitators for Elgin Vineyard. The Kruses are present in the large group  talks on Zoom, and they also host a Zoom breakout room for local participants. Alpha Online is a great way to make friends and enjoy community while staying at home, and we also offer in-person Alpha when we can.

This is such a fantastic and valued program that we try to run an Alpha course at least once or twice a year. Interested in the next session? Let us know; we'd love to hear from you and get you the details when we have them.
Please note that, due to the COVID-19 climate, there will be no food with Alpha. This series is entirely online at this time.
