Tim Caffee

Pastor of Youth & Worship

Tim is thankful for having been raised in church—that’s where he learned that God is real and relevant today. And at 13, he heard a sermon that convinced him it wasn’t going to work to try to get by on his parents’ faith. Making relationship with Jesus his own, he soon sensed the Lord calling him to a life of vocational ministry.

God had gifted Tim in significant ways for that. His dad is a band director, so “music is in my blood,” he says. By eighth grade he was playing guitar and drums and leading worship for his youth group. When it was time for college, Tim headed for Judson University, where he sang and toured with the choir, led a worship and prayer ministry called Upper Room, and earned a bachelor’s degree in Worship Arts.

“But during the course of college,” Tim says, “I realized that my real passion is being with
people and shepherding and walking with them in different seasons of life. Music has just been a tool in which to do that.”

So Tim came on staff at the Vineyard as youth pastor. His heart for youth is that they learn to honestly connect with God and with each other and that there will be ministry moments that shift the way they look at the world. Tim leads not only our VIVE youth ministry but also an after-school club at one of the local schools. He leads our Worship Department as well.

Beside hiking and biking, Tim enjoys a good work of fiction, including science fiction, and reading poetry. He also writes poems and worship songs and arranges music. His album, “The Hymns Project,” is available on iTunes and Spotify.
