Vision 2020: Renovate
“For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun!” Isaiah 43:19a (NLT)
The Lord brought this verse to the attention of our church during the dedication of our new sanctuary on June 11, 2017. What a joyful day it was! We came together to celebrate, commit our sanctuary to the Lord, rededicate ourselves to his purposes, and pray over the task he calls us to: telling people about Jesus.
We’re grateful for all God has accomplished so far! When we kicked off our capital campaign, Vision 2020: Renovate, in October 2016, we quickly met our pledge goal of $400,000. That amount will support three projects:
► Sanctuary Renovation (now completed) – Our stage has been redesigned to enhance our worship and expand our ministry area. We’re also enjoying new pew cushions and carpeting, along with some technology upgrades.
► New Boiler (this summer) – Our current system is living on borrowed time—it’s more than a hundred years old!
► Debt Retirement – Paying off the mortgage on our building will save money and open up new resources for Kingdom work.
The capital campaign runs from January 2017 to December 2019. We call it Vision 2020 because it will prime us for growth and greater reach, especially when the campaign is behind us at the beginning of 2020. Besides the physical renovation to our building, however, God also wants to bring spiritual renovation to our hearts. Lord, bring it on!
